3-star hotel in Langres, a must-see stopover point between Dijon and Nancy

In the heart of the charming town of Langres, on the itinerary for southern France and the Alps, Yves and Brigitte welcome you into the warmth of Le Cheval Blanc hotel and restaurant. The hotel is a former abbey that is mentioned in historical 9th-century documents. Let it charm you during your stay.

This building steeped in history has gracefully gone through the ages, a true chameleon. It was initially a religious building from the 12th to 16th century. In 1793, a carpenter converted it to an inn.

Now its 3-star rooms combine the cosiness and authenticity of history with modern decor. Guests will enjoy its warmth, and can choose amongst the wonderful Superior, Standard, Family, and Family Duplex Rooms, and the Junior Suite.

Gourmet restaurant in Langres

To all gourmets out there: Come! Restaurant Diderot, in the heart of Le Cheval Blanc hotel, invites you to enjoy a gourmet moment offered by Chef Patrick Durdan and his team. The menu is a true voyage of flavours from here and beyond, with creative and refined cuisine that pairs quite well with a glass of Burgundy wine.

Summer is a perfect time for enjoying these delicacies and these special moments on the relaxing and beautiful terrace. Indoors, modern lighting and paintings by the (local!) artist Arthure bring out the fine materials of yesteryear. A feast for the eyes and taste buds.

Our story

Documents indicate that a priory and hospital were on this site from the 9th century. In the 13th century, it became a parish church serving the south-eastern part of the town. In the 14th century, brotherhoods of wool weavers and stonecutters settled in Saint Amâtre, which shows that this was an artisan neighbourhood.

Disused during the French Revolution, this monument that Le Cheval Blanc hotel now occupies still has some traces of its former purpose, such as arch windows, fluted pilasters, and gargoyles.

Our thoughtful and warm team is ready to listen to your needs and to serve you. It is thanks to our team's professionalism that we are "Hôtel Cert" certified.
