Langres, historical and fortified town

With its 12 towers, 7 gates, and 3.5 km of ramparts, Langres is a true fortress on the crossroads of Champagne and Burgundy. Its charm has made it one of the 50 most beautiful towns of France.

Follow the maze of alleys. At the bend of covered passages, the town opens itself to you. This Gallo-Roman town has several noteworthy sites such as its ancient monuments, Bacchus mosaic, and must-see sculptures. Langres has earned the title Town of Art and History ("Ville d'Art et d'Histoire"). It has stayed true to its roots all through the ages and abounds with treasures that are just waiting to be discovered.
